There is always something happening at the ICC. The ICC has special events throughout the year with new programs added regularly. At present, here is a list of reoccurring programs and classes.

Monday - Friday 3:15 PM - 5:30 PM Kidz Club

The ICC provides this recreational program in an effort to support island families with work commitments extending beyond the school day, needs to make trips to the mainland, or to allow more free-form social interactions for their child. Kidz Club operates in accordance with the Islesboro Central School calendar observing school holidays and vacations. A daily snack and beverage is provided to each participant daily. This program is open to children in grades K through 6.

Wednesdays 5:30 PM Dinner & A Little Music

The ICC schedules Wednesday night dinners periodically. Our dinners are reservations only and served buffet-style. Music always follows dinner, and dancing is encouraged. Reservations are taken up until 4 PM on the Tuesday before the dinner. Check on Events calendar for upcoming dinners.

Fridays 6:30 PM Community Movie Night

Each week the ICC shows a new movie on our 12-foot high film screen. All movies shown are rated PG or PG-13. A snack and beverage are included with your admission donation.

Yoga

ALL LEVELS You, Your Mat, Your Breath, and Your Body. A vinyasa flow class that gets your body moving. Continual movement through yoga postures gets your blood-rate up while balancing and core sections will keep you focused and strong. Modifications are highlighted in order to make the class achievable for all. All are welcome!

Zumba Gold

The Zumba Gold program is very easy to follow so anyone at any age will be able to do Zumba Gold. Dances that are specifically highlighted in this program include the Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Salsa, Rock & Roll (including Twist and Charleston), Belly Dance, Flamenco, and Tango.

Core Strengthening Group

Core Fitness is a program designed to improve an individual’s strength, flexibility and balance through a routine of exercises and weights all done in a group but at each individual’s own ability.

Senior Fitness is a program designed for seniors ages 63 and up who want to improve their strength, flexibility and balance through a routine of exercises set to music some involving hand held weights.

Zumba

Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

Iyengar Yoga

Colleen Duggan is a certified yoga instructor, teaching in the manner of the Iyengar yoga method.  She studied for 10 years in Europe and Asia, and currently studies with master teacher Patricia Walden in Cambridge, MA.  Colleen and her family live in Camden where she holds classes at the Penobscot Bay YMCA, Wellness Center, and High Mountain Hall.  Colleen has been teaching yoga classes on the island since Fall 2007.
